Purchase & Refund Policy

Last updated: 10 May 2026

This Purchase & Refund Policy is part of the Terms of Use and explains how subscriptions to EduBook Pro are purchased, renewed, cancelled, and refunded.

1. Free trial

Every new tenant receives a fourteen (14) day free trial of the full Service. No payment instrument is required at signup. You may abandon the trial at any time without any charge.

2. Subscriptions

EduBook Pro is sold on monthly or annual subscriptions defined by the plans published on edubookapp.com/pricing. The plan you choose at purchase determines:

  • the device limit (number of simultaneous installations);
  • the student capacity (maximum active enrollments);
  • which feature modules are unlocked (online exams, WhatsApp notifications, online groups, etc.).

Prices may be quoted in Egyptian Pounds (EGP) or US Dollars (USD) depending on the gateway and your location. The currency displayed at checkout is the currency you will be charged in.

3. Payment methods

We accept payment through the following methods:

  • Online card payments via PayPal (international) or Paymob (Egypt) where enabled.
  • Local e-wallets (Vodafone Cash, Etisalat Cash, InstaPay, etc.) where supported by the payment processor.
  • Bank transfer against an invoice we issue directly, when agreed in advance for enterprise customers.
  • Cash at our office, against an invoice, when agreed in advance.

Full payment-card numbers and credentials are never stored on our infrastructure — they are tokenized by the payment processor. We hold only the transaction reference and status.

4. Renewals

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price for the same plan. We will send a renewal reminder at least seven (7) days before the renewal charge, by email and by in-app banner.

You may turn off auto-renewal at any time from Settings → Subscription in the desktop application.

5. Failed renewal payments — grace period

If a renewal payment fails (expired card, insufficient funds, gateway issue), the Service enters a multi-stage grace period:

StageWindowWhat happens
gracedays 1 – 3Service fully usable. In-app banner shows the failure.
grace_latedays 4 – 7Service moves to read-only mode — you can sign in and view data but cannot create or edit.
expiredday 8 onwardsSign-in blocked. Your Customer Data is retained per the Privacy Policy.
archivedday 120 onwardsData may be deleted from active systems.

Renewing during any stage before archived restores service immediately. The grace period is the only “extra time” provided — no separate dispute window beyond it.

6. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time:

  • Inside the application: Settings → Subscription → Cancel.
  • By email: write to service@edubookapp.com.
  • By contacting your payment processor directly to stop the recurring charge (PayPal users can do this from the PayPal subscriptions panel; Paymob recurring tokens can be revoked via support).

After you cancel:

  • Your subscription remains active until the end of the period you have already paid for. You keep full access during that window.
  • After the period ends, the Service moves to the lifecycle states described in Section 5 (no grace — grace is for failed renewals, not for voluntary cancellations).
  • Your data remains in our systems for ninety (90) days during which you can re-subscribe and resume seamlessly.

7. Refunds

7.1 Standard rule — no refund for partial usage

EduBook Pro is a digital service consumed continuously throughout the billing period. Once the Service has been delivered for any part of a billing period, the corresponding fee is non-refundable. This is consistent with Article 41 of Consumer Protection Law No. 181 of 2018 and its Executive Regulations, which exempt digital services that begin delivery with the consumer’s consent from the standard distance-sale withdrawal right.

7.2 The 14-day trial substitute

Because EduBook Pro offers a fourteen (14) day free trial before any charge, the trial itself functions as the consumer’s opportunity to evaluate the Service.

7.3 Exceptional refund cases

We will issue a full or pro-rata refund in the following cases:

  • Duplicate charge caused by a payment-gateway error — refunded in full upon evidence.
  • Service unavailable for more than 72 consecutive hours due to a fault on our side (excluding maintenance announced in advance and excluding outages caused by third-party infrastructure that we cannot mitigate) — pro-rata refund for the affected period on request.
  • Material change in the Service announced under Section 1 of the Terms that reduces functionality you specifically subscribed for — pro-rata refund for the remainder of the billing period if you elect to terminate.
  • Refund required by an Egyptian court order or by the Consumer Protection Agency — processed within the timeframe set by the competent authority.

7.4 Out-of-scope situations

Refunds will not be granted for:

  • Cancellation mid-period for any reason other than the cases in 7.3 above.
  • Failure by the Customer to use the Service.
  • Misconfiguration of the Customer’s environment (DNS, antivirus, device limit exceeded, etc.) — we will assist via support to resolve.
  • Suspension or termination by us for breach of the Terms of Use (Section 12).

8. How to request a refund

Send a refund request to service@edubookapp.com including:

  • the email and tenant name on the account;
  • the date and amount of the charge;
  • the reason (with evidence if applicable — e.g., gateway error screenshot).

We aim to respond within five (5) business days. Approved refunds are processed back to the original payment method within the timeframes required by:

  • the Central Bank of Egypt for local card and e-wallet refunds — typically up to fourteen (14) calendar days from approval;
  • the PayPal merchant terms for international card refunds — typically three to ten (3–10) business days.

If the original payment method is no longer available, we may issue the refund as a credit to your account balance for use against future subscriptions.

9. Currency and exchange-rate effects

Refunds are issued in the same currency as the original charge. We do not compensate for changes in exchange rates between the date of charge and the date of refund.

10. Chargebacks

If you dispute a charge directly with your card issuer instead of contacting us first, your access to the Service may be suspended pending the dispute outcome. We strongly recommend contacting our support before initiating a chargeback so we can resolve the issue quickly.

11. Disputes

If you are unsatisfied with our response to a refund request, the dispute resolution route is the one described in Section 16 of the Terms of Use — good-faith negotiation, then the competent Egyptian courts seated in Cairo.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Egyptian Consumer Protection Agency under Law No. 181 of 2018, or with the Central Bank of Egypt consumer protection unit for matters related to electronic payment instruments.

12. Changes to this policy

We may revise this Purchase & Refund Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced at least thirty (30) days in advance and will only apply to charges placed after the effective date.
